Hi,

The customer is receiving the error, but it does not prompt for username and password, and she can receive her mail, just not send - so it doesn't seem to be a login issue.

She can telnet to our mail server fine.

Does she have the right username and password combo?  For instance, if its a virtual host, username = [EMAIL PROTECTED].  And are you receiving that error or is she?  Is RR blocking port 25?  Cans he telnet from her machine to port 25 on the Imail server?

Subject: [IMail Forum] 550 not local host, but smtp authentication is enabled

Hi,

We have a customer who is connecting to our IMail server via Outlook 2003, and I have verified that SMTP authentication is checked, but she is still getting the 550 not local host, not a gateway error.  She says it has been happening for a few days now and her ISP is roadrunner in NY.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Michele
