I spoke with AOL the first time I got on their blacklist and gave them a list of dynamic IP's, now they send me the reported abuse emails from their customers with the full headers. By knowing what on my network is dynamic they know whether or not to blacklist. They stated that they wouldn't blacklist based on complaints from dynamic IP's. FYI, I called the support number on their web site and had to tell the answering tech that I was an ISP administrator and asked to speak to a tech that worked with the email servers. Took some time to get there, but once I did it stopped the inadvertent blacklisting, and I now receive full headers.

Then it's hit or miss with AOL (since John reported that sometimes the headers have come through for him...we haven't had as much success with that as he has).

Didn't know if you hadn't added a real subscription management system in lieu of the simple listserv in IMail, and just use IMail for the delivery and receipt.  Your best bet would be to do just that.

Since I am using IMail (this is an IMail forum) I am asking the question related to the listserv built in to IMail.

Exactly my point...I don't know if his mailing list system will allow this or not.

This is why, if you do the list mailing correctly, the “Youa re subscribed as emailaddress here” at the bottom of all mailing, you will see who it was.  This is what I do.  Also, they do not always flag the spam on purpose.  If they have set the filtering too high, then it blocks false positives.  I usually contact the client directly to make sure this is what they want.  About 95% it was an auto-filtering feature form AOL that caused the problem.

The email client doesn't matter...I can see the headers just fine...  The issue is that AOL has recently started stripping out all custom headers, making it difficult, if not impossible, to tell the intended recipient from the headers.  That's why I suggested a link with a tracking ID in the body of the email...like many unsub links will do.

Try thunderbird and you'll see the header.

Is that not being removed now that AOL strips out all

The TOS notices I get have the "spam" email
attached so you can look at

the header info to get the imail message id. We use
mxguard so it is

listed as 'X-mxGuard-Spool-ID'

Anyone have advice how to determine by checking the

who an email was sent to at AOL since AOL removes the

For example:  I sent out on a subscription list
for our local car club

an email notifying our members that a new newsletter
was available and

got a TOS notice back.  The included header from
AOL is:
