Thanks. I should have said is it still true? The post I was looking at was a couple of years old. I didn’t know if something had changed.

 

I will try the idea of forwarding a port at the firewall level.

Yes.  'tis true.  You need to either run a port-redirecting utility mentioned in archives, or preferably, put a rule in your firewall to redirect a different external port to internal 25.  Port 587 is generally the recommended external port.

I am having trouble with home based users not being able to send mail through my iMail server anymore. The ISPs; SBC/Yahoo & Ameritech; are blocking port 25. I looked in the list archive and it appears that iMail can only listen on a single port, is this true? I don’t want to force everyone to change to accommodate a few users. It’s easier to have them use their ISP for outgoing mail.
