I thought about dropping an entry into the hosts file, but I would decline to fiddle around with that sort of thing just because somme company's DNS admin can't be bothered to buy the O'Reilly "DNS & Bind" book. It's a can of worms - we handle too much e-mail to set that kind of precedent.
Definitely not recommended, unless it's the only option (as in the boss can't send mail to someone).
If we're sure the problem is being caused by the remote provider, I'll let our customer know that the problem is the other side's. So I guess my question is - we're *sure* it's the DNS thing?
Positive. If you want to point to a third-party, you can use www.DNSreport.com (either the DNS report or mail test tool), or directly to http://www.dnsreport.com/tools/mail.ch?domain=pilsonauto.com which makes it pretty clear that there is a problem.
