Sharyn -

I went through this about 9 months ago.

I set up my new domain as my static IP address - new_domain_name.com
I set up virtual domain as a old domain - old_domain_name.com
Copied Users from static domain to virtual

I used article from the www.ipswitch.com KB
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/im-19981110-DD06.htm
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/im-19991007-Dm01.htm

This first article looks really helpful..thanks!!!

Here is my next question.

In the next few months, I will be setting up a brand new mail server.

On the old server, until the new one is ordered, I have created a virtual
domain for the new domain (cruzaninc.com).

Can I export all current users on the current domain (todhunter.com)to this
new virtual domain using the first KB article? I don't see where it
specifies that virtual domains can't be used to do this. Will exporting them
wipe out the users for todhunter.com? This article looks to be a way to
actually move them permanently.

Can I then set up the new server with the official host name of the virtual
domain (which will be my "real" domain)and import the users from the virtual
to the new server?

During the transition period, both email addresses, [EMAIL PROTECTED] and
[EMAIL PROTECTED] will need to work. I was planning on setting up
forwarding from all of the todhunter accounts to the new cruzaninc accounts.

MX and A records have already been set up for the new domain, pointing to
mail.todhunter.com. Dnsreport looks good.

Thanks in advance. I am sure there are many different ways to do this..I'm
interested in hearing them all.
