Everyone is missing the point.
The problem is not the type of connection but the failure/laziness of the telco/cablecos to properly provide or delegate proper F/R DNS to the subscriber.
cableco/telco rdns infected-zombie-34-76-20-45.clueless-lazy.cableco.com
Competent ISP rdns mail.intelligentcustomer.com
If clients (with a need to host their own servers) would seek out competent ISPs who properly configure their network services then they would not have as great a problem with their email being blocked.
As with most customers it is due to lack of knowledge and preceived higher cost.
