Hello List! We are an ISP with several thousand e-mail users. Our primary e-mail server currently runs linux and postfix, though we also have an Imail server on our network which handles mail for several other domains.
What we would like to find out is if there is any feasible way to set up the following: Mail sent to e-mail addresses at our primary domain would go to the linux/postfix server and also be mirrored to an Imail server set up to accommodate e-mail to the same domain and user accounts as on the linux/postfix server. All e-mail addresses would be set up on both the linux/postfix server and the Imail server, giving the users the choice of which method they would prefer to use to check their mail: one of several linux-based webmail programs such as Squirrel Mail, or via I-mail. The point of this all is that we would like for our customers to be able to use the Ipswitch Collaboration Suite put out by the makers of Imail without interfering with the users who are content to use the Linux Webmail packages or without porting the entire mail server to Windows. Is this sort of configuration possible, with the same domain name set up on two different mail servers? If so, how feasible/practical is it to use this type of setup?
