Just as a follow up:
It is also not a Browser or Firewall Issue as far as I can tell.

Subject: [IMail Forum] SSL Connection Error on WEB
I used SSL for the web a long time ago, but disabled it during a
bunch of DOS attacks we were getting. I recently tried to activate it
using everything from IMAIL 8.1 - 8.2hf2 and all of them give me the
following error in the web browser when visiting the website.
--------------
Connection Error!
The webmail server is reporting an invalid HTTP header or connection
type. Please contact your system administrator.
--------------
In 8.1, I get this odd error in a web browser
In 8.2, SSL works great for IMAP but same problem in the web browser.
Here's what I have done:
I have checked the certificate. It is fine. It works in 8.2 IMAP and
it displays and downloads properly to the browser. I have tried both
self-signed and issued certs with no change. The certificate is not
causing the issue.
I looked up the knowledgebase article located at:
http://support.ipswitch.com/kb/IM-20010911-DM01.htm
Nothing in that article seems to make a difference. It is not a port
conflict. It does not appear to be a permissions problem. (I have run
the web service as Administrator just to see). Enabling and disabling
SSL on each domain would take me a really long time, so I didn't
bothter doing that one, however I did do that on the main service
settings.
I checked the iwbmsg.ini and everything looks happy there.
I've restarted everything several times.
ANY IDEAS???
Thank you.
