Didn't Ned catch this and ask the RFC editor to make the change before publication? I have to dig through my email archives and verify what happened. Meanwhile, I'm dealing with a bunch of other fires and won't be able to get to this thread for a few days.
Yes. Ned mentions this in his "IESG review of draft-nerenberg-imap-binary-06.txt" message to imapext on 8/21/02, but never asks for a change. He seems to be asking the list whether the section can be empty.
