Thanks everyone for the helpful replies.

I am actually debating whether I still need my imgate or not. Still testing
and have not migrated my heavy domains yet. Will keep list posted on my
findings regarding load and spam.

We switched to SmarterMail several years ago and with the latest
release have actually eliminated our external IMGate filtering server
as we had to deal with too many (> 1000) domains coming from several
disjoint (FreeBSD, Linux, windows, external customer's) mail servers
(not just 1 SmarterMail). The new greylisting feature in SmarterMail
really cut down on spam making this possible. I still have it in place
for use as a filtering server for a select few domains and as a backup
MX server.

If you decide you still need your IMGate server you just need to
switch to a new program to export your users to IMGate. This is
available for free on the Smartertools site.
Here is a link to the instructions:
  http://www.smartertools.com/downloads/smartermail/smailusr-readme.pdf
and here is the download:
  ftp://ftp.balloons.com/pub/smailusr.zip

If you want to save some money on Smarter Mail we offer it at 10% off
of list price.

nothing, except the Windows script for exporting Smartermail users to
Imgate.
