>How successful has IMGate been against DOS attacks?
what kind of DoS specifially? IMGate only works on SMTP level, so attacks via ICMP or other protocols are not affected >How would one approach clearing up this problem? you'll have to explain what the problem is more clearly. >Would dual IMGate boxes before the mailservers be enough to do it if we >could tarpit the originator(s). Your only hope is to outrun the DoS, ie, a bigger volume of resources available than the volume of the attack. If an attack is via SMTP protocol, IMGate would be your first line of defense. If an SMTP attack is coming for a limited number of IPs, then escalating down to the level of blocking at the IP level is the next step. Len
