This shouldn't cause the relay not to work though, right? All the other
domains are working ok...

you don't need the .domain.com lines, if put transport_maps in this list:

# postconf | egrep -i parent
parent_domain_matches_subdomains = 
debug_peer_list,fast_flush_domains,mynetworks,permit_mx_backup_networks,qmqp
d_authorized_clients,relay_domains,smtpd_access_maps

man smtpd

        parent_domain_matches_subdomains
               List of Postfix features that use domain.tld patterns  to
match
               sub.domain.tld (as opposed to requiring .domain.tld
patterns).
