Frederik - Good point. As I understand it, the source stewards maintain their building data daily. Public releases are published quarterly (which is why I stated OSM fixes may happen before we receive new updates). I mentioned your exact scenario to the stewards yesterday and awaiting a response on their specifics of tracking building removal. This would be useful to flag buildings that need removal if the OSM community hasn't already fixed this.
