I'm running W2K, and SMPTRCV crashes periodically. Since I have W2K
configured to automatically restart crashed services, I don't actually
notice it much (I have to go look in the event logs to see problems). Once
in a while it will go catatonic instead, but it usually just stops running.

The number of failures seem to increase as load increases (I haven't changed
my SMPTRCV for well over a year, but the real problems with crashes have
been in the last 6 months - mail load has increased from 300 messages/day in
January to 850 messages/day now -- virtually all spam).

                         Randy.
