In my case (and I assume Alan's) 99% of my mail comes straight from the sending 
server to my primary MX server (IMS) only in the 1% where the IMS server is too 
busy or down does the mail go to my secondary MX and waits for IMS to come up 
or get un-busy.  So if in that 1% there's a spam trap address I may temporarily 
black list my own secondary MX.  Whitelisting the secondary MX would keep me 
from ignoring him for just doing his job of stepping in when needed.
