Over the
weekend stopped sending/receiving. I had messages with x’s in the id
#. I had run out of disk space. Also, in event viewer I’m getting
“can’t write to e:\spooler\pop3log\090505.log, logging temporarily
disabled”. I popped the service and seems to be happy, but in some
instances multiple copies of messages are being sent out. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. NT4,SP6.
Don't run out of disk space.
:-)
Seriously, when that has
happened to me, I saw messages that got doubled as well. I think what happened
is that the messages got stored, but the write had failed somewhere, so that
SMTPRCV did not respond as a successful receiption, so that the
sender tries sending it again, effectively repeating the message. You'll
have to live with that, but it should quickly stop.
