I believe an earlier message referred to the SysInternals kill command as working with SMPTRCV. Their executable is actually called "PsKill", but of course could be renamed. You can read more about it at http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/PsKill.html
That same page mentions that a kill command is available in the WinNT and Win2K resource kits, so perhaps that's what he's using.
