My two cents on buying Macs: * Get the 3yr AppleCare warranty because it's quite expensive to repair out-of-warranty Macs in India (buy preferably at a discount from Amazon through a contact in US. Nothing needs to be shipped to India, you just need the AppleCare serial #). You can buy this within the first year of purchase.
* buy a Mac model soon after it's released else you may have to deal with buyer's regret. Now is a good time to buy a MBP or iMac 2011 models, but hold off on the Mac Mini or MacBook Air. * And for everyone with 3-4 year old Macs or if your Mac is out of warranty, consider putting in a SSD to replace the stock 5400 RPM HDD.
