This is common understanding to many in the community. However the best out there is GNOME and KDE. Creating an all new GUI environment + tools requires lots of manpower + $$. Unless Apple gives away Aqua, we simply have to use the (good) stuff that we get from Gnome/KDE. One way to integrate technologies to solaris is to build GUI interfaces into G/K, and AFAIK guys in the community are doing this with GNOME and ZFS. So, in short, unless you can convince top management in SUN to hire away *cough*Apple*cough* UI engineers to build a brand new desktop enviornment, we have to go with G/K ~Anil _______________________________________________ indiana-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://mail.opensolaris.org/mailman/listinfo/indiana-discuss
