Dear members
Our next focus of monthly weeks would be family Poaceae, a very important
and large group of plants with good representation in our country. The
episode should prove very useful with the involvement of our grass expert,
Dr. Manoj Chandran who has very kindly agreed to coordinate this episode.
It would be a golden chance for members to get their grass photographs
identified/verified from Dr. Chandran who has thorough knowledge of
grasses. I request members to collect their photographs of grasses for the
coming episode. As the family is complex one and difficult to identify from
photographs, I request members to upload as many photographs as possible,
especially focusing leaves, sheath and close up of florets and
inflorescence as a whole.
As some members may not be able to differentiate between grasses and
sedges, could it be possible to include sedges also in this episode?. We
may extend the week accordingly as we did for VOF episode. Decision of
Manoj ji would be final on this.
