Dear All
I think Vijaya has a great idea

i was looking at the steps involved in creating such website..
logistics need is enormous

either one needs an army of internet and botany savvy students//post docs
// volunteers// working a long hours each day at the computer...

plus pressure on educated knowledgeable botanists // scientists and
taxonomists equally great

i am thinking of this website
http://florakarnataka.ces.iisc.ernet.in/hjcb2/index.php

funded heavily and has a big staff only a few whose pictures are shown in
thier who we are or some such pages.. look at it...carefully and you'll
see its good and yet it needs many many refinements and they dont have the
enormous database of cases as we do...

looks simple but even they have a dedicated salaried staff and eminent
scientists on board who do nothing but that

I think we have a different platform and different agenda to start with
and a different database of cases that span the whole country and many
other countries of the world where our members travel to .

.we have chance to show and see the variation in the same species by the
multiple cases in each species.

What Vijaya has suggested is ideal..
the world of botany would be richer by thousands of folds if one could
achieve what vijaya, you and us have dreamt of..

but I think the "baby step" of inserting pictures is doable at this point
although this "baby" step is an enormous task in number of dedicated hours
and getting used to to doing it...

On my part I will try to do a few cases a day as time permits
and my internet service provider goes on...
