in the first picture upon enlarging there is a thorn i think ... in the
branch that's rising diagonally in the bottom of the picture and is ending
with a couple of inflorescence a small red tipped thorn seems to be present
*TSP do you have pictures of the thorns?*

since Senegalia polycantha 's colloquial names include claw thorn.
