Greetings all--

I concur wholeheartedly with Dr Singh. I've been (and continue to be) rather
swamped in work and other personal issues, so I have limited time to contribute
nowadays. I've got certain families with which I've got more familiarity than
others; I'm sure most here do as well.

Including a plant family (where known) will decidedly help me assist in
identifying those with which I'm most familiar.

Regards to all--
Ken.

photographs of identified plants

Dear membersIt has often been felt that knowing the family name of a plant
helps a lot in further understanding of the plants that are uploaded by
different members. Whereas it may not always be possible to know the family
name for photographs meant for ID (although many of us often indicate family
name or genus name, if we know it), the members sharing already identified
plants mostly know the name of the family. They are requested to indicate the
name of the family and any additional information that they find convenient to
share. With large majority of our members being nonbotanists, such information
will be very useful for most members. It may also help in further discussion on
the plant.
It would be convenient and useful for all if the family name supplied is in
accordance with APG III, followed in all major databases such as GRIN, The
Plant List, Wikipedia, TROPICOS, etc. This will avoid any contradictions.
