Hi Swarup,

I saw some discussion already regarding this on Indlinux so adding it
into cc.

   1. As per the standard U+09F0 is Assamese 'Ra' character and has
given property of 'ra' in rendering engine, so modifying font will not
make any difference. At the most one can change shape of Reph (U+09F0
U+09CD) to Half Ba but it will have same behaviour of Reph. i.e. it will
move it at the end of syllable.

   2. Rendering engines will not accept this changes since it is not as
per the standard and will break Assamese language rendering badly i.e.
using "BENGALI LETTER RA WITH MIDDLE DIAGONAL" as a BA since no shape
available.

In past we have seen such complex things but in long term one
required standardize solution. In future if anyone open data created, it
should get displayed in same way irrespective of the platform and font
selected. I will suggest you to write this peculiar case to Indic
Unicode list and get some suggestions.

Best Regards,
Pravin Satpute
