Is there somebody running AFS client on SP1?
We tried to install AFS3.3 on our SP1, but so
far it doesn't work. The afsd just hung and couldn't
mount /afs. AFS commands like klog, vos, tokens work fine.
The SP1 is the precursor to the SP2 so they are quite similar -- it
is basically a loosely coupled farm of diskless RS6000 model 370's that
get their filesystems from a control node (an rs6000/580 which is an AFS
client). I believe they even use the same "copy" of the kernel so it is
no suprise that loading the kernel extensions on the SP1 nodes appears
to work correctly.
Transarc told me that AFS isn't supported either SP1 or SP2. But they
heard of some customers who were able to make AFS work on the SP2's.
So please advise.
