I'm trying to bring up an AFS client on an Alpha 600 running Digital
Unix 3.2b using the 3.4a release.

I rebuilt the kernel as described in the Install Notes with the
correction in the README

When afsd tried to start I get the following:
afsd: Can't mount AFS on /afs(19)

Perhaps more info can be gained by all of the console output - for
example, if I try to bring up afsd using a memcache (diskcache fails
too):

# /usr/vice/etc/afsd -memcache -verbose &
468
# afsd: My home cell is 'nrlmry.navy.mil'
SScall(232, 28)=0 afsd: Forking rx callback listener.
afsd: Forking AFS daemon.
afsd: Forking 2 background daemons.
SScall(232, 28)=0 SScall(232, 28)=0 afsd: Calling AFSOP_CACHEINIT: 300 stat cache
entries, 12500 optimum cache files, 100000 blocks in the cache, flags = 0x1, dcache
entries 12500
SScall(232, 28)=0 afsd: Sweeping workstation's AFS cache directory.
afsd: Using memory cache, not swept
SScall(232, 28)=-1 SScall(232, 28)=0 afsd: All AFS daemons started.
afsd: Forking trunc-cache daemon.
afsd: Mounting the AFS root on '/afs', flags: 0.
afsd: Can't mount AFS on /afs(19)
SScall(232, 28)=0 SScall(232, 28)=0
#

If anyone has had success bringing up afsd under Digital Unix, was there
anything undocumented that had to be done in order to be successful?

thanks
-dave
