i believe transarc has completely missed the boat with their afs marketing.
transarc should give away afs client loadable kernel modules and
associated client software (fs, vos, pts, etc.), and make their money
selling servers.  this strategy is working for netscape and a whole
host of other companies in the client-server marketplace.

as things are going now, i would guess that transarc has a few years
left before microsoft and cifs mow them down.
