Kim,
the difference is, that
vos remsite -server XXX -partition XXX -id XXX
removes only the reference to one specific RO copy from the volume's VLDB
entry. Hence this is what you want to do in your case.
On the other hand,
vos delentry -server XXX -partition XXX
will remove the VLDB entry for the 'whole' volume, that is the location
information for the RW and all the RO copies of a volume. This is
definitely not what you want to do, as it would make all copies of the
volume inaccesssible to the clients.
