6 afsd running on SUN

Hi,

I am running Solaris 2.5.1 on a rather old SUN. At the moment the system
is really slow and I have no idea why.
I  found out I have 6 afsd daemons running. Is that normal? Who starts
them?
I'm not really into administration stuff and would appreciate your help
