What *is* the problem with >2GB volumes?

Transarc says that volumes >2GB are "not supported", but I'm
finding (as have others before me) that they seem to work just
fine, at least on AIX 4.3.2 and AFS 3.4 5.74. 

So - what problems have folks seen?  Or are things actually stable,
and Transarc is just being overcautious?
