The standard 3.2 version of Transarc's v3fshelper definitely does
not work when plugged into the boot image, as I experienced myself.
At the time I ran into the mess, our IBM support checked some IBM internal
discussion group on the subject and came up with the advice to
replace the string /sbin/helpers/v3fshelper by /sbin/helpers/v3fshelper.aix32
in all /usr/lib/boot/*.proto files (where the v3fshelper.aix32 is of course
the original version).
I followed the advice and had no problem since. I'm even tempted to stick
to the scheme with a fixed v3fshelper should this exist.
