At MIT, we run without the weekly restarts, and have not encountered any noticeable problems due to this. The memory leaks seem to have been long since fixed. It is probably good to restart things every few months (like with the local power hits). However, be aware that the log files will continue to grow without the restarts and will eventually be several tens of megabytes. -Richard
