Owen,
this is not the only problem you will run into: ADM uses rxkad_crypt
encryption level for the admclt-admsrv session which the 'export' version
of librxkad.a for us poor Europeans does not support...
Took me some time to find out!
For the missing des routines I replaced the whole package by the routines
which everybody outside the US uses: those which are available even 'in
the streets of Moscow'. Then replace rxkad_crypt by rxkad_auth in the
admext_adm.c and admext_kas.c routines. If ever somebody (don't mind
whether in Moscow or elsewhere) has a clone for the top secret rxkad routines
I'm interested!
BTW: an article in last week's (or so) New Scientist suggests between the
lines that the main reason for the US DoC to enforce the DES export
restriction is to keep the NSA alive. Meanwhile it seems that Britain's
encryption industry has taken a world lead in the market, which makes me
wonder how long the US administration will be able to withstand pressure
>From companies like IBM and DEC.
Cheers,
Rainer
