We're in the process of installing an ATM switch which will
interconnect several RS/6000s and SGIs. We plan to make one of
the RS/6000s an AFS fileserver and all the rest AFS clients,
and then do some testing of speeds and feeds, performance, etc.
If performance is good (a relative term), we'd like to consider
moving to ATM as our primary networking medium for many/most of
the servers and clients in our AFS cell.
Has anyone out there had any experiences running AFS over an
ATM network? Any words of advice on configuration, tuning, or
expected performance?
