i agree with andy, who thinks afs is slow.

i agree with russ and david, who blame the cache manager.  especially 
rx.

i agree with terry, who suggests careful tuning can help a lot.  (is 
there a tuning guide?)

i especially agree with paul, who knows damn well the afs server is an 
eight-year old rs6k model 520.

the afs performance story is abysmal, always has been.  someone should 
fix that.
