Ah. That sounds suspiciously like a tape error. Does the drive
indicate if it needs cleaning? Or possibly the tape need replacing?
DLT drives and tapes often go on "forever" in comparison to other
tape technologies without needing cleaning or replacing, but both
will eventually need doing.
