Hello,

We at OpenAvenue are committed to supporting the CVS community and the
ongoing development of CVS. If there is the need and interest in new
mailing lists, we are more than happy to provide them -- helping the
community like this is what we are here to do.

So what is needed? We currently have:

cyclic-announce for new versions of CVS
info-cvs for everything else

And there was at one time a dev-cvs, that was disabled after the sale of
Cyclic.com to SourceGear.

Most of the suggestions I've seen revolve around separating discussion of
CVS usage, CVS design and evolution, and bugs. So should we have three
mailing lists?

Another possibility would be online forums and a public bug tracking system.
I understand that if you're reading this message you're probably comfortable
with mailing lists, but a forum interface might be easier for people who
come and go. People looking for help with a bug or usage problem for
instance.

So I hope that y'all take these suggestions in the spirit they are
offered -- we're here to help.

Jtf
