Here is what our business manager sent me yesterday about this:
I forgot to tell you about the next fun thing we (Business Managers)
get to report for this year! This one is called GASB 51 and it has to
do with intangible assets. Basically what I need to know is if we
have any software that we use that is internally generated. And, if
so, a dollar amount on that software :)
Then, we have to come up with a cost for all the other computer
software. The Board will have to adopt a board policy that has a
threshhold for that software.

I was just asked by my business secretary, about an INtangible
Assest policy. Apparently there is a policy at the state level
relating to asset tagging software, and all non-tangible tech (see
also: Webpage). I was wondering if any of you have heard about
this, or is this something we can all look forward too in the fall?

1) Anything that is in the world when you're born is normal and
ordinary and is just a natural part of the way the world works.
2) Anything that's invented between when you're 15 and 35 is new and
exciting and revolutionary and you can probably get a career in it.
3) Anything invented after you're 35 is again the natural order of
things
