I don't quite know why you mention AOL being hacked as happening only in
their early years. Up until a few months ago I and over 100 other people I
associated with via the internet were targeted by some malicious
malcontent(s) who sent us literally tens of thousands of mailbombs each over
the course of a year or more. All of them sent from hacked AOL accounts. Of
course AOL didn't feel our collective abject victimization warranted any
effort on their part.
I'll reserve my other very disdainful comments about AOL in honor of the
honest subscribers of that most major DISservice.
