It's rather sad to think new people to the internet believe AOL is *the*
internet. I refuse to become a member of AOL now nor have I ever been in all
my time online. My son, Dave *waving hi to Dave who is on this list* used
AOL from my computer before he got his own. The few times I logged on it was
horrible!

It's a pity the subscribers believe AOL is the internet, for they are
missing out on so very much content. Their proprietary email alone makes AOL
another horror. They cannot even read a link when I send something of
interest along. I have to HTML format it for them.

While my son was on, I did check it out and discovered much lacking. At the
time, I was using Earthlink or AT&T before they tacked on the 150 hour
limits, to get to AOL. I was unable to get to certain areas of the internet
and that in itself was annoyed me. However, what is most frightening is the
fact that they control content. Nobody, but nobody tells me where to go
while I am online or what I can and cannot read!

Enough said. I'm on cable now and loving it!
