How young was this person, teenager?
He is 16 years old
If a program is failing to load (which will cause a hang after
hardware
checks are done) then you may want to try hitting Esc
twice.
It's not a
program failure. The computer will not boot up. It stops at a blinking cursor
on a black screen
It could be unrelated, but he/she could have deleted files or even
put
something in the floppy drive. Step into the bios setup and see
what is
says. Make sure boot from floppy first is selected.
Nothing in the
bios has been changed.
With the exception of a hardware problem or damaged MBR, if the
Esc+Esc
works, then would check the system for a keylogger or some type of
trojan. Also, make sure you check the bios settings; I have seen
bios
settings mysteriously change somehow.
Esc+Esc does not work
If the above doesn't work, then try and hold down the Control Key
while
booting and see if you get the system boot menu.
Nothing happens. Its totally
dead
