The seek rates are quite sufficient for most on a 40 gig, 7200 rpm drive. The thing is
that without partitioning you are wasting a LOT of space with large clusters to say
nothing about the time when an fdisk/format is called for because of a corrupt system
and EVERYTHING on the 40 gigs is lost unless it's been redundantly backed up. With a
partition(s) at least only the partition on which the OS resides has to be redone
without the loss of data on the other partitions. It not only is more efficient but
safer also because of that.
To the rest I think I was using GHz instead of GB for partition sizes. My apologies. I
have GHz on the brain. My upgrade will be !GHz. <g>

| when it was stuffed.
