I assume you are on Windows 9*?

You already check to see if there are any conflicts in device manager?

Start/Settings/Control Panel/System/Device Manager Tab

Next you need to check the midi device:

\.\../Control Panel/Multimedia/Midi Also check the Device Tab for the default out
device.

Post the following info if you have not already found the problem.

Operating System:
Sound Card Manufacturer:

If you have Windows 98: Start/Run type in msinfo32 then hit enter that will show you
conflicts, your irq and dma settings. Look through the list on the left inside the
msinfo32 window, and click on each one to view your current settings -- sometimes it
take few seconds but build the list.

All else fails consult your manual on how to re-install the device drivers for the
card.

I have screenshots of these settings for a Soundblaster AWE64 in a .RAR file around
here somewhere, send me a short email if you need them to compare.

You may also want to look at your autoexec.bat, use Start/Run msconfig to view it.
