Some things to try - (would try each individually and check to see if it
makes a difference before trying something else):

Do you have a joy stick (or two) attached to the computer? If so remove it
and see if the midi will play. Another option; disable the gameport in all
profiles to see if the midi will play

Go to system devices from the control panel, right click Computer and then
choose properties. Make note of all devices using the same interrupt - still
in system, go to each device and try "relocating" one or more of the devices
to different interrupt. (Do not be surprised if windows tells you that some
of them cannot be moved).

What is your video board? There are known conflicts with the ATI board as it
uses unusual address ranges. These can overlap with the sound board. Move
the sound board to another I/O.

If you have not done so already, go to the web site and download the latest
drivers. (You are using legacy (DOS) drivers? Are you running DOS based
programs that need this support? Try disabling the DOS drivers and their
"set address" by REMing them out of the autoexec.bat file or disabling DOS
support by way of the sound card control program.) Install the latest vxd
drivers.

In control panel, go to multimedia. Click on the MIDI output tab - try one
of the options listed other then the one highlighted, or, try the custom
radio button and configure to another of the output options.
