I not only know of MailMax, I also know the people who wrote it. I
would_never_use it I hasten to add for a number of reasons which I won't go into
here. I certainly would not take the MailMax experience as any sort of
indication as to the feasibility of basing mail in SQL.
How do I know these people - well it goes back a long time when Eric Webber and
his programmer were working on the first truly graphical BBS called "Excalibur".
I launched the very first live Excalibur system in the world (apart from their
own) called Avalon which ran on 8 modems and Windows 3.0 - the comms side was an
experience of its own :-) Alot of the modifications to Excalibur were there due
to my involvement from the beginning.
Anyway - that was before the days when people knew what the Internet was - hope
you don't mind me reminiscing a bit :-)
Adrian Cooper.
