In order to solve our list server local delivery dillema (the one I
mentioned the other day) I had a cool new feature added to iMS 1.5. iMS 1.5
should be released soon (I can't really go into feature details at this
point as we're still working on the final specs). Anyway, iMS 1.5 will
include a new POST Server feature called "Smart Delivery". Smart Delivery
will take mail that is destined to a local domain and, instead of routing
the mail through to the local SMTP Server, it will call a template that you
designate (the default template is DATA - you should normally be able to use
your existing DATA template but you can always designate a different
template).

What this means is that you can send mail from a list to the POST Server
without having to worry if the domain is local or not - the POST Server will
determine whether the receiving SMTP Server is on the same box or not
automatically.

Currently, we have POST Server 1.5 running on a test server here (the same
on that is running FM/2 beta). and it seems to be working fine.

This server is considered to be a beta preview of the iMS 1.5 POST Server
and the final 1.5 release will not be the same. However, if anyone wants
the chance to test it then please let me know and I'll either send it by
mail or, if there are several people that want it, I'll make it available on
our ftp server.

Regards,

Howie
