I did build my own MTA around the "raw" iMS. I don't want iMS releases to be
tied to FM releases. I do have one comment regarding FM: Fusebox!
Just to clarify what I am suggesting - rather I am NOT suggesting that iMS and
FusionMail be totally, and irrevocably integrated so there is no choice but to
use use it - but rather it be included in the distribution for those that do
want/need to use it - the vast majority I would think.
Although FusionMail is overtly a WebMail system, iMS out of the box still uses
the domain templates from FusionMail even as a standard SMTP/POP3 client server
MTA - how many people don't use those or a derivative thereof? They even belong
in the iMS directory structure.
All I am saying is provide a complete ready to go package for those that
want/need it, whilst retaing the existing unlimited flexibility.
Adrian.
