I gave no specifics because you didn't supply any. I have no idea how much ram your
server has, for example. I can tell you that our server has not been reset since we
upgraded it (over a week ago) and the smtp service is now using under 20MB. There are
several things that affect RAM usage including the number of threads configured and
the version of CF that you are using (I would recommend the latest 4.5 or the current
5.0 release). You may also want to configure the simultaneous app server connections
parameter so as not to oversaturate cf with requests.
