If you want to relay mail you can do so using either the Relay server or the SMTP
server. If you are trying iMS demo
for the purposes of evaluating iMS-SE then you should use the Relay server as the SMTP
server is not included in iMS-SE.
The steps for this are:
1 - Disable the SMTP server
2 - Configure a list of Allowed IP addresses (these are IPs that are allowed to relay
through the server).
3 - Configure the port that the Relay server should listen on. The default SMTP port
is 25 but, since the relay server
is intended for internal use, you can make this a non-standard port like 2525 (make
sure to configure CF to use whatever
port you designate).
If you want to use the SMTP server then you would need to have the assocated CF
templates configured. We provide a
freeware set of CF templates called FusionMail that you can download from our web site.
