Another Question... I use MS win/2k server DNS. When I create an entry it will create the reverse entry for me.

If you are using win/2k then you might be able to delete mail.xxxx.com entry and recreate it with the "create reverse" box checked.

If you are on a nix box then maybe the interface will have a way for you to create the reverse DNS.

Warning:  I am NOT an expert on DNS.  I understand what I need and sorta understand the whole thing, but when you get in the world of ISP and Hosting sometimes you will need their "expert" to fix the reverse dns part.

HTH ...bartee...

I have access to my DNS.  My ISP controls them, but they give me an interface to modify the settings.  Thanks for the link on the DNS Report.

Not exactly an answer but look at www.dnsreport.com

Run this on your url.  This is an excellent education in what the ISP's are looking for and what all should be set up in your eMail server and DNS.

Where is you DNS ?  Are you controlling your DNS or is your ISP or Host provider?

I have just been informed that AOL wants me to set up Reverse DNS lookup on my eMail Server.  1st, how do I do this? and how do I test it to make sure it is why AOL needs in order for us to send emails to our AOL email client base?  Can someone pls point me in the right direction on where I need to look?

Thanks,
Dave Hatz
